The Algarve remains the most popular destination for foreign nationals both in terms of holiday destination and property investment, the Algarve which is situated on the southern coast of Portugal and enjoys a wonderful climate and stunning beaches.
Unquestionably the Algarve owes much of its popularity to its plethora of world class Golf courses especially in the so called golden triangle where the rich and famous have villas most costing upwards of €1,000,000. However if like the rest of us your budget is a little more modest there are plenty of other villas in the Algarve.
The range of property in the Algarve is reasonably diverse with Apartments being a popular choice among investors and second home seekers alike. Apartments in the Algarve are still available for less than €100,000 and the potential in holiday let returns can be very good indeed.
Move inland slightly and even better value can be found although you cannot command the same rental prices for these properties as you can with those on the coast or near to the Golf courses.
There are many activities in the Algarve if golf is not your thing there is of course the beaches, sightseeing, water parks, lounging by the pool or the vibrant night life and restaurants of which there is something for everybody’s taste.
Starting with the most salubrious Quinta do Lago, Villa Sol and Vale do Lobo where celebrities are often seen playing a round there is also a list of golf course with top class facilities to choose from.
Pine cliffs 9 hole golf course is challenging and beautiful has a Sheraton hotel and is closest to the Beautiful resort town of Albufeira.
Salgados 18 hole course is very testing with a par of 72 and many water features and is located between Albufeira and Armacao de Pera.
Alto 18 hole course is not for the faint hearted Sir Henry Cotton designed the course and is realy for the advanced golfer with all the features normaly associated with pro golf such as dog legs, bunkers and lots of shrub to lose your golf balls in. It also has a par of 72.
Real estate on or around any of these golf courses is obviously at a premium but property in the Algarve can be found to suit the majority of budgets for investors looking to purchase in such a popular destination with a certain class of client.
