Alvaiazere property in Alvaiazere

Alvaiazere is the town where our parent company is based it is a small market town with a population of a little over 8,000 people. It is also a municipality in the district of Leiria is comprised of 7 parishes and covers approximately 160 km². Alvaiazere PropertyThe name itself comes from the Arabic word Al-baiaz which means falconer. There is a large selection of property for sale in the area with prices to suit everyone. The town considering its size has a surprising cultural infrastructure; it boasts a cultural centre where entertainment of all sorts takes place, including piano recitals, plays, comedy and children’s entertainment. Thesportsstadium where apart from the obvious a range of events ranging from music, stunt riding, fates, expositions, and gastronomic competitions take place. On the mountain of Alvaiazere there is a commanding view of the area with stunning views in the past it was the home to Proto historical people and later on the Romans many artefacts have been unearthed there. Conombiga which is a marvellous example of Roman baths and town is a 30 minute drive away. Not far away at Carreira de Cavalos there stands the remains of a Moorish Castle. The town also has a medical centre to look after the basics of health care and the main hospital is 40 minutes away although that is about to change when the new road from Tomar to Coimbra is completed and travel times in general will be reduced drastically. This improving infrastructure is proving to invite investors in property from all over Europe. There is also a cinema which plays the latest films predominately in English with Portuguese subtitles. The schools have a small but rising number of Expat children within them and are extremely accommodating. The swimming pools are outdoors and open only in the summer and the beautiful and clean river Zezere is 30 minutes away and provides picnic spots swimming and idyllic sunbathing areas. A number of bars cafes and restaurants in and around the town give an easy opportunity to ease your way into the community.
