Figueira Da Foz On The Silver Coast

Figueira da Foz , meaning “Fig tree at the mouth of the river”, is located at the mouth of the Mondego River, at the northern end of the Silver Coast, and is sheltered by the Serra da Boa Viagem hills.
Property in Figueira Da Foz has become a sound investment not only for the professional Portuguese who own apartments and houses for summer holidays, but also for International investors who are currently enjoying property appreciation at an impressive 15% per year. Northeast of Figueira:  Brenha, Taverde, Vila Verde, Maiorca, Alhadas
East of Figueira da Foz: Vila verde
South of Figueira da Foz: São Pedro, Gala, Costa de Lavos, Lavos, Leriosa.

Buarcos: Located at the northern end of Figueira da Foz beach.  World renowned for surfing, this area is enjoying a lot of new development with plenty of beachfront and sea view apartment blocks ideal for holiday rental investment.
Costa de lavos: Approx. 4 kms  south of Figueira da Foz, this is another Blue Flag beach area set within a tradional Portuguese village. Mainly detached and semi-detached property is found within this village which is located 2kms off the main IC1 Leria road.
Lavos: Located on the opposite side of the IC1 to the beach, Lavos is, in actual fact, a series of villages all of which enjoy the infrastructure of all modern conveniences. English speaking doctors, dentists, schools, shops, supermarkets and an active community centre,  the villages are, in the main, modern and many houses have been renovated from the traditional Portuguese ruins. There are still a few development opportunities with ruins that have large parcels of land in areas designated for residential construction available. Village houses are popular here, and many have a 2nd property within the grounds that would make ideal B&B or holiday letting  businesses.
